Asia Pacific Business Coalition on AIDS

Founded in 2006 by a group of concerned Australian companies, APBCA is a not for profit organisation leading the private sector response to limit the impact of HIV and AIDS in the Asia Pacific region. As the inaugural CEO, Stephen developed the business model and has helped create a network of national business coalitions that are funded by, and deliver services to, the local private sector.

Prior to 1995, Stephen was based in London where he held a number of leadership roles in the private sector. He was a Managing Director of global retailer, Laura Ashley, where he played a key role in re-establishing the brand and returning the company to profitability.

Stephen is also currently the Chair of the Bayside Health, which includes the Alfred, one of Australia 's leading hospitals. In the past has held board positions with major textile, design and professional service businesses.

Stephen is a creative lateral thinker with good people skills. He combines numeracy with a strong feel for brands and consumer behaviour. He has developed particular expertise in helping organisations achieve both financial and social goals and is keen to help achieve greater private sector involvement in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
